A convicted serial rapist, labeled by police as “one of the most prolific predators” in the UK, may face additional charges after new allegations from seven more women were submitted to prosecutors. The individual, Zhenhao Zou, a Chinese national, is currently serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 24 years. He was found guilty of drugging and raping ten women in both London and China between September 2019 and May 2023.
Authorities, suspecting that Zou may have committed further offenses, issued an appeal for potential victims to come forward. Following this, the Metropolitan Police compiled a file containing new allegations and forwarded it to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which is now tasked with deciding whether to pursue additional charges.
The evidence within the file pertains to multiple alleged crimes, including rape and the administration of substances with the intent to commit sexual offenses. These allegations include reports from five women who reached out to the police after the public appeal, as well as claims concerning two unidentified women. Although 23 women contacted police following the request, the majority opted not to take legal action.
Meanwhile, separate investigations are continuing into accusations linked to Zou’s actions in China. The Metropolitan Police are coordinating with Chinese authorities to gather relevant evidence as part of these inquiries
