Three admit arson attack at Persian media offices in Park Royal

Three individuals have confessed to their roles in an arson incident targeting the offices of a Persian media company located in north-west London. The incident occurred on 15 April at the Park Royal premises of Volant Media, which is the parent organisation of the Persian news broadcaster Iran International. Police responded after an “ignited container” was thrown in the direction of the building.

During a hearing at the Old Bailey, 19-year-old Nathan Dunn admitted to arson, acknowledging that his actions were reckless with regard to endangering life. A 17-year-old boy pleaded not guilty to this charge but accepted a lesser offence of arson. However, prosecutors rejected this plea, and his trial has been scheduled for 1 February 2027. Another defendant, 21-year-old Oisin McGuinness, had already pleaded guilty to arson and additionally admitted to dangerous driving and possession of cocaine. The court accepted these charges.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported from the attack, as the fire extinguished itself shortly after the container landed in a car park area. Both McGuinness and Dunn hail from Watford in Hertfordshire and have been placed in custody. The 17-year-old cannot be named due to legal restrictions and has been remanded into the care of local authorities
