Authorities have confirmed the death of a teenage girl at the Kendal Calling festival during the early hours. The 17-year-old experienced a medical emergency at approximately 02:15 BST and was declared deceased at the scene.
Cumbria Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are seeking information from anyone who was near the Calling Out tent and the Big Wheel when the tragic event occurred.
A police spokesperson emphasized the importance of speaking with a particular group of women who were the first to notify emergency services after expressing concern for the girl’s condition. “Officers are particularly keen to speak with a group of women who alerted first responders to the girl after becoming concerned for her welfare,” they said.
