A fatal collision occurred on the M90 near Kinross late on Friday, resulting in the deaths of two men. Authorities reported that around 22:30, a grey Ford Kuga was observed driving northbound in the southbound lanes close to junction seven. Moments after this, it crashed head-on with a white Vauxhall Corsa moving southbound.

Tragically, the driver of the Ford Kuga, aged 44, and the 20-year-old driver of the Vauxhall Corsa were both declared dead at the scene of the accident. The incident led to the closure of the M90 motorway for roughly 16 hours between junctions six and nine, allowing emergency personnel to conduct their investigations. The road has since been reopened to traffic.

In addition to the southbound carriageway closure, the northbound side was also shut temporarily overnight. Chief Inspector Lyne Williamson expressed her condolences, stating, “My thoughts are with the families of both the men who died following this tragic incident.” She added that a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police have requested anyone who was driving on the M90 at the time and witnessed the collision to come forward with information to assist in the inquiry
