A stabbing incident in Edinburgh has led to the arrest and charging of a 23-year-old man. The event occurred in the Calder Gardens area early on Monday morning, when police responded at approximately 08:25 following reports of a man carrying a bladed weapon. Ch Insp Scott Kennedy addressed these concerns directly, stating, “I’m aware misinformation continues to be shared online about this incident which could cause further distress in the local community.” He added, “I’d like to be clear: we did not receive any reports of a man attempting to enter a nursery or any educational establishment and this was not a hostage situation.” He urged the public to refrain from speculation and highlighted that false information could potentially impact upcoming legal proceedings. The police continue to maintain a presence in the area to provide reassurance to residents
